In case you weren’t aware of, Drakengard 3 is an action RPG that came exclusively on PlayStation 3. Not only that, but it’s really difficult to hit 120fps in the current version of RPCS3 (without more optimizations or faster hardware). However, this high framerate will break the lock-on feature when flying the dragon minor. Moreover, it’s also possible to play the game at 120fps. RPCS3 can run Drakengard 3 with 60fps thanks to a performance patch from Whatcookie. This is why emulators are so important and this is why we are supporting them. As such, PC gamers can enjoy the game with a higher framerate and better visuals. It sounded like NieR sometimes and it sounded like past DOD games sometimes. The RPCS3 team has announced that its Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, can now run Drakengard 3 with 60fps. I can't say I ever felt like DOD3's OST was consistent. Even when there are deviations from the typical music, it still feels like it all belongs to the same album. In the end, both games have OSTs that create one solid and consistent sound. Is it electric rock? Experimental orchestra? Gregorian-esque? Transformational ballads? Of course, it's all of that but it never comes together to feel like one product.Ĭonversely, NieR Gestalt/Replicant really blows any other OST out of the water, though, and NieR Automata is just as beautiful but not as perfect as NieR Gestalt/Replicant. It's frantic which matches the Drakengard/Drag-On Dragoon series but it also means that the OST doesn't know what it is. Overall, though? It's a very weak OST brought down by the lack of cohesion. There are definitely some amazing stand-outs in DOD3 like Kuroi Uta, Final Song, This Silence is Mine, Descendeus, Aethervox, and of course the iconic Exhausted.
